The weather is wonderful here in AZ for getting outdoors to exercise. I am excited to hike Tom’s Thumb this week (shown in the background of this photo) If you are going for a long hike this Fall, an easy and healthy snack to bring along with you is TRAIL MIX. Here are some Fall inspired mixes that I enjoy this time of year: Sweet and Spicy • ½ cup almonds • ½ cup pepitas • ¼ cup toasted oat cereal • 1/4 cup dried cranberries • 1/4 cup dried ginger bits • Dash of ginger Carob Hazelnut Trail Mix • ½ cup hazelnuts • ½ cup walnuts • 1/8 cup dehydrated banana chips • 2 Tbsp carob chips • 2 Tbsp cranberries • Dash of unsweetened cocoa powder Festive Trail Mix • ½ cup toasted pumpkin seeds • ½ cup pecans • ¼ cup brown rice cereal • ¼ cup dried apricot bits • ¼ cup dried cherries • Dash of cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger Antioxidant Power Mix • ½ cup almonds • ½ cup macadamia nuts • ½ cup pepitas • ¼ cup goji berries • 1/8 cup organic cacao nib • 1/8 cup chia seeds and/or hemp seeds
