Pie in the Face!

image005This pumpkin pie facemask is a festive DIY treat that you can make while whipping up your pumpkin pies for Thanksgiving tonight! It will leave your face soft and refreshed and ready for the festivities to begin. Pumpkin is one of Mother Nature’s most beneficial beauty products. High in vitamin A (skin healing), vitamin C (anti-oxidant) and zinc, pumpkin helps protect from free radicals and dissolves dead skin cells, while helping the other ingredients of the mask penetrate deep into the skin, intensifying the results. Don’t be shy with this mask, slather it on your face, neck and décolleté to give yourself a healthy glow! Ingredients: • ¼ cup organic pumpkin puree • 1 organic egg (tightens skin) • 1/2 tsp cinnamon (antiseptic, exfoliant) • 1/2 tsp nutmeg (anti-inflammatory) • 1 Tbsp. plain goat milk yogurt (you can use reg. plain yogurt too) • Drizzle of honey (for dry skin- helps moisturize and acts as an antiseptic- Manuka honey works to fight acne as well!) • A splash of 100% cranberry juice or apple cider vinegar (for oily skin- acts as an astringent and helps with pH balance) Goat’s milk contains a substance called caprylic acid that helps maintain the skin’s natural pH level, which is slightly acidic to prevent the overgrowth of bacteria. Caprylic acid is also easily absorbed into the skin and helps exfoliate dead skin calls helping to keep your skin smooth, soft, and supple. Instructions: • Mix your customized blend of ingredients and slather on your face. Now sit, relax, read a book, maybe even do a soak in the tub for the next 15-20 minutes and then rinse off with warm water and ending with a splash of cool water to close your pores. Happy Thanksgiving!!
